H.E. Governor Tambuwal presided over the Town Hall Meeting with Relevant Stakeholders on the 2021 Budget, organised by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, under the leadership of Muhammad Mainasara Ahmed mni Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
Governor Tambuwal appraised the performance of the State’s 2020 budget in many sectors and expressed satisfaction with it. He said the aim of the exercise was to articulate the views of stakeholders on how best government can improve fiscal management in the most transparent manner. Of note, the Governor emphasised that his administration is currently engaged in the provision of portable drinking water to 600 rural communities. Others include soon to be constructed 500KM Feeder Roads, Fiscal Discipline Construction of Schools and Primary Health Centres, Synergy in Security Operations, enhancing Girl-Child Education as well as ongoing plans to provide Mass Transit service for Intra and Inter-city travels. He stated these while responding to comments, suggestions and observations made by the stakeholders at the Town-Hall Meeting with Relevant Stakeholders on the 2021 Budget Preparations held at the Auditorium of Sultan Maccido Institute for Qur’an and General Studies, Sokoto. The Sokoto State Government will continue to support and enhance the capacity of its workforce in all the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for effective service delivery. In his address the Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Mainasara Ahmad said since the inception of the present administration, the Government has adopted the inclusive budgetary approach aimed at ensuring participation, ownership, accountability, transparency and sustainability in the overall policy development of Sokoto State.
